Caribbean Youth Empowerment Program

In 2008, Children First partnered with Peoples Action for Community Transformation (PACT), to launch the Caribbean Youth Empowerment Program (CYEP). The aim of this initiative is to train vulnerable youths in the technical, vocational and life skills areas, hence equipping them with the necessary tools to develop a sustainable livelihood. Training is offered in the following areas: Cosmetology, Housekeeping, Videography, Photography, Customer Service and Data Operation. The participants in this programme must be in the age group of 17 to 25. Priority is given to young men, who are unemployed, lack the skills necessary for service – oriented jobs, or are unable to start or sustain small businesses. Upon successful completion  of CYEP, participants will be HEART / NTI certified (for Videography and Photography) and sent on internship. In addition the participants are equipped with the necessary skills to be role models in their communities.
